All disease begins in the leaky & imbalanced GUT
Your gut is affected by SO many things in our day-to-day life. 😩
Stress, like getting hit in the face on live national television, taming screaming children or getting cut off in traffic, causes imbalances in your gut.

Consuming alcohol and processed foods disrupt your delicate bacterial balance.
All lead to leaky gut.
And all disease begins in the leaky & imbalanced GUT!
You may have heard the phrase "All disease begins in the gut" but I've modified it to include 2 common situations that are underlying CAUSES of disease.
Resolving leaky gut and imbalances by clearing infections, moving your bowels, and eating anti-inflammatory foods are great ways to boost your overall health & reduce disease incidence!
My top 3 tips for managing your stress response:
1. Breathe – Deep abdominal breathing balances the nervous systems. Take slow breath in through your nose for a count of 5 – feeling your lower ribs expand out, hold for a count of 5, and slowly exhale to a count of 5.
2. Pause – Meditate, pray, or simply pause. During the height of a stressful encounter, it is a powerful shift to take a moments pause. Although it is not always possible, removing yourself from the situation and allowing your time to regroup is beneficial.
3. Mindfulness – Practice yoga or other active mindfulness regularly, ideally several times a week, aids to solidify these techniques so that they become an automatic response when stress occurs.
My top 3 tips for nourishing your body & gut:
1. Hydrate – Drink half your body weight in ounces, of fresh clean water daily. Add in some organic lemon, lime, or other fruits for delicious & healthy infusions.
2. Fiber – Consume 25-30g of fiber daily ideally from whole food sources like chickpeas and vegetables.
3. Nourish – Avoid inflammatory foods like alcohol, processed/packaged/pre-made foods. Consume what is organically grown in the ground and if you choose to eat meat consume only grass-fed, organic, wild-caught animal products including eggs and diary.
Hydrating and consuming adequate fiber aid with moving your bowels daily. Moving your bowels is one of your body’s main natural detoxification pathways. This will allow your body to rid itself of toxins, infections, and waste on a regular basis, improving the health of your body & gut.
Some situations, like chronic infections, hormone imbalances, and chronic diseases need investigation to identify the root cause(s) and intervention to resolve them – this is where I come in!
